Mourning Dove
Eldramir The Gentle

Some birds arrive at a feeder with fanfare, wings flaring and tempers hot. Eldramir the Gentle is not one of those birds. He descends like a falling sigh-soft, measured, and with the quiet gravity of someone who remembers when every breeze still carried wisdom.
He was hatched in the shadowed hush of a cedar thicket, a place where even the sun walked softly. From his earliest days, Eldramir showed the rare gift of stillness. While his siblings tumbled about in youthful chaos, he watched the world with patient amber eyes, absorbing its rhythms like a monk listening for sacred echoes.
Among the Mourning Doves of the Vale, Eldramir is regarded as a quiet keeper of old ways. He’s the one who steps aside when tempers flare, yet somehow still commands the respect of every bird in the branches. Even the feistier Mourning Doves give him a respectful berth-partly out of courtesy, partly because it’s hard to pick a fight with someone who radiates that much peaceful authority.
At your feeder, he moves with the calm of a seasoned diplomat. Even when the white-wings stomp about like armored knights claiming territory, Eldramir simply tilts his head, shuffles three dignified steps to the left, and continues his breakfast as though he’s mastered the ancient art of strategic non-involvement.
Eldramir carries a sense of old melancholy, but not the sad kind-the wise kind. The kind that knows storms will pass, seeds will return, and peace is worth defending with quiet resolve. When he coos, it sounds like distant hills remembering the dawn.
A steady presence. A soft heart. A keeper of the hushed wind. That’s Eldramir the Gentle.
