Gavren the Unbidden, a shadow among songbirds, walks the forgotten paths of the hedgerows and watches the nests of others with calculating calm. A Brown-Headed Cowbird by name and nature, Gavren is known across the glade as a bringer of burdens - not by malice, but by mandate of a strange and ancient instinct none dare question.
He does not build. He does not nest. He entrusts others to raise what he leaves behind. Mothers awaken to find foreign hatchlings in their care - wide-eyed, hungry, uninvited. And always, somewhere beyond the branches, Gavren watches.
Yet he is no villain, not truly. He is a creature of strange fate, wrapped in a cloak of quiet necessity. His song is low and cryptic, often mistaken for distant thunder or the mutterings of the forest itself. Some say he serves an older law - one written in wind and forgotten by the nest-builders.
He is not cruel. He is simply there.
Known to wander with ravens, listen to owls, and speak in riddles to those who wake before dawn, Gavren carries the weight of stories untold - and burdens unchosen.
